Well,hello month six. OMG, whoop whoop.dances around the pc.......can you believe it,?!?!?!........we have entered into month six and how good do I feel now! How good do you guys feel?

I have been on holiday to Portugal with my husband(now smoking again) and two good friends,both smokers and I never once gave in..Oh god I felt like it but did not do it!!!

Colleagues at work actually had a book running that I would be back on the fags by the time I came back......I seem to have shocked a fair few of them!!!! Ye have little faith!!!

So just a little pat on the back to all who are still here with me and big pats on the back for those who have gone longer!

For those who are not here yet and are doubting themselves,.....it DOES get easier.....it NEVER goes away but it gets easier to deal with and to recognise.

Congrats on 6 months and avoiding smoking on holiday. That takes a massive effort.

I would just like to pick up on something you wrote if i may and i hope you don't take it the wrong way.

You mention it never goes away but how do you know that ? You have only quit for 6 months to date ?

Fantastic! You beat a big one with the holiday thing. Next time you go away it won't have nearly such a hold on you.

Six months was a real turning point for me. I really started to understand it all a lot better, got some distance between me and the habit, and it stopped being such an effort. You're doing great, to hell with the doubters, don't let the b***ards grind you down!

Hi Jae glad to hear that you didn't smoke while you were on your hols, this is what I am dreading, I am going to Portugal on the 18th with my chain smoking son just the two of us my husband is joining us the following week end, I ust hope that I will be ok as I am nearlyy 4 months smoke free, any tips would be welcome please xx

Quite right I did mention that it never goes away...............how do I know...............I was a non smoker for 7 years and started again after a messy break up with my ex husband.that was 15 years ago!!!

You do learn to ignore the fact that you were once a smoker but it never leaves you, that is my opinion!

Lills..I feel I have probably taken too long to answer your help for any tips but here goes.......

Drink more alcohol....joke!!!

Relax...........everyone smokes out there but that does not mean that you have to............I just talked more cos I wasn't dragging on that fag.......read plenty...........drink plenty and sunbathe plenty!!!
