Hey this is about the 5th time ive stopped in the last few months! Im off today and tomorrow so had my last cig last night. (Have cheated by going back to bed this morning for a few hours) On my own with a 5 and a 2 yr olds, work part time, smoked about 10 a day. Those little voices telling me to "just have 1" getting louder, reading through the posts here helped though.

Hi Angie
Firstly well done for quitting and making the right decision, hang in there it will be so worth it if you do.....
I know it can't be easy for you sat there with two little kids running around very stressful sometimes, those little voices you can hear are just the nico demon trying to tempt you remember the more you ignore him the quicker he will leave...not sure which method you are using to quit but it does help if you keep busy and it sounds like your are with two littles ones .....just keep telling yourself you are doing the right thing. Think of all the reasons you want to stop smoking most of all hang in there it does get easier
I am on day two, did this yesterday and didn't given in thanks to a very well timed post by someone just as I was about to put it off for one more day - felt amazing by the evening when I knew my first day was done. Stick with it if you can.
Hi Angie welcome to the forum I only hope you realise that quitting smoking is tantamount to being the biggest thing you can do to improve your health and quality of life not just for you but for those 2 little darlings that are cuddled up in bed with you, well I will imagine that you are now up and out of bed life with children is hard work and sometimes stressfull but you have felt stressed and worn out even when you did smoke so nothing changes there does it, the big difference is you will be around longer for your children and granchildren which will probably seem so far off that not worth worrying about at the moment but we all feel that way at some point and then the years fly by and we wish we had done something like quitting when it would have made even more of a difference, so stick with it girl while you have the chance and make your girls proud of you, use the forum there are some good support systems in place on here that will keep u focused, well done u xx
Im determined to stick to it, I quit for 3 months last year. Im going CT. I just collected my 5yr old from school there and had a total fit at her for a small misbehaviour! This is always my sticking point cause i struggle to control my emotions for the first week of the quit and altho its worth it in the long run, its hard to explain to young children why mummy is acting like a bit of a phsyco!!!! Cracking headache too Strangely one of the main reasons for me to quit is to gain weight i tend to smoke and drink coffee. Had loads to eat today and drank over 2 lt of water so far.........
DAMN!!!!! Ran over to the shop fully intent on buying cigs..............came out with a chocolate bar instead that was close!!!! Im actually quite proud of myself lol.
Hi Angie and well done to a fellow West Lothian girl for taking the decision to stop. I'm an Armadale lass now living in Leeds.
Stick with it and just get yourself through the first day, one day at a time.
Remember when you get to day 2 you will never have to do day 1 again.
Stay strong

Hey, thanks for all the support. I have been and got patches yest (STEP 2's) as I couldnt handle the mood swings, its not fair on the kids. On day 3 though, not put my patch on as yet, eating like its going out of fashion which is great news for me
Morning Angie glad you have reached Day 3 not an easy one and getting the patches is hopefully going to make it easier and with having little ones tempers can be frayed so whichever way you decide to go and that you are comfortable with is good, get the fluids down you and let the body detox and you will feel better after the patches take effect not that I know much about them but Im sure there are plenty on the forum who can advise better than I can on that subject, you take care and enjoy the slight spot of good weather x
