the usual stuff that smokers say you've all heard how everyone knows someone in their 80s smoke 40 a day and still here to tell the tale. plus they
know my mam stopped then 16years later when she died the doctors said it was due to the that the damage that had been caused through smoking..

Sorry to hear that you are feeling so confused:confused:
You are doing fantastic 10 days is brilliant and you have overcome your 1st 3 days which are supposed to be the hardest.
Why have you decided to quit?, you need to re address that question, right down your answers and leave them on show somewhere so you can look at them each day. I'm no expert by any means as only on 1 month but i would use this forum as much as possible as I personally feel that it has help me from all the encouragement and support from everyone and i think that's what we need in the early stahes of the quit process.
I'm sending you lots of PMA, keep strong and take each day at a time.
June, don't forget your reasons for stopping, sometimes they even change as you read and learn more stuff. Don't let others put you off by their stories. Everybody has a story, good and bad. But you mustn't let them affect you. Think of what your hubby would say to you now, think of the support you will get from him soon.
Shaz is right about remembering your reason, I put mine in my signature and have saved two in my favourites on the computer, and I read them every day, sometimes they still bring a tear to my eyes cos it reminds me how important this is to me, and although they don't know it, it's important to the people around me to.
10 days is fantastic, don't throw it away because of the words of others, it's your words that matter.
Just hold on now, one day at a time, they soon mount up.
Well done Neddy on your day 10. A fantastic achievement. As the others have mentioned, dont listen to those words of smokers - jealously and addiction are at play here.
We have all been with them in the past.
But now we are free of the addiction and the dirty little tricks it plays on your mind.
You've made the right choice and you've come this far - you should be very very proud of yourself.
I'm on day 23, 11 hours, and 19 minutes - and I cant remember in the last 10 years or so being and feeling this healthy. The reasons to stop far far outway any reasons to start again, or to smoke in general.
Hi June and well done so far. I have now been quit for 2 months 2 days but how long we have quit for doesn't matter. You will always get the ones who say I know someone who smoked 40 a day all their life and they are now 80 something. If you were to go and see them they probably can't talk more than three words at a time without getting breathless.
Out of 100 smokers probably 10 will live to a good age but what will happen to the rest. When I was smoking I would say the same thing about people I know etc. but that was only an excuse for me to smoke. So pay no attention to them and do what you want to do. I know of some people who did not have a seatbelt on in an accident and it saved their lives but I know of many many others who's life was saved because they were waring a seatbelt.
Must tell you this story though and this is true. One of my pupils told me her gran had died at the age of 106 she smoked right up until the day she died. The family said it was the smoking that killed her.
It is jealousy and envy paul ive realised that now... Day 24 for you thats really good not far off a month you must feel great and so pleased and proud of yourself keep it up i wish you well
It is excuses jack thinking about it ive said it all myself.. 106 thats some age to live to, just think how much money she WASTED on smoking over all those years.... Im saving my cig money and ive got £66 i'm so pleased to see it mounting up...
You are doing so well over 2 months thats great.hope you ars feeling the benefits of it well done and thanks for your reply

Hi June
You're doing great 10 days that really good Big hug I'm sorry you're feeling confused but yes we all know people who ahve smoked that live into the eighty's and beyond and yes smokers always bring it up
I know I did as a smoker as if it's some sort of reason to carry one
Just keep going OK you'll find so many benefits from stopping Promise
