I'm on 1 month and 1 day! This has been really hard but after the first two weeks it has become easier every day. I'm 34 and smoked for 20 years so that's more than half of my life. Congrats to all of you out there who have recently quit!!! This for me was waaaaay hard!

Hello
Thank goodness I'm now at a stage when I too can say 'Yes, it WAS way hard'. At your stage I was still feeling it was very hard but at just over 3 months things are a lot easier. Still sticky moments and passing thoughts of a smoke would be nice, but just passing thoughts.
Stick with it..... better days and easier times are ahead.
All the best
Pol
It is hard sfwv , but around about a month it starts to get easier ( I have been here before..:rolleyes
I'm 34 also and really wish i'd given up earlier (or ,ideally never even started in the first place, silly me )
On the plus side, I ran (i could never run without having practically having an asthma attack)all the way home today. I can actually feel the lung damage getting better....

Very well done to you, it will get easier as you cross off the days. Reading about why you feel the way you do will also help, the websites in our signatures have lots to offer, knowing about nicotine addiction is a big plus.
Best wishes.

Hi Smokefreeinwv
Hi.
Well done for reaching the first month. My first month will be on Thursday (the day) Saturday (the Date). Which one shall I go for? The Day or Date??
I just wish this month will go faster as I've been told the first month is the worst.
Just think this will be a first smoke free christmas for some of us. Isn't that a nice feeling.
Best Wishes
Julie E xx
congratulations on reaching one month. I definitely agree with you when you say it is hard and so glad to hear it is easing off for you. I am on five weeks and have mixed feelings, some good days but this last week has been so hard. i think Christmas might have a lot to do with it. having said that we had a smoker in the house on Christmas day [In another room with the window open) and I got through it with no interest in smoking myself so that has to be a strength that wouldn't have been there during week 1.
However we might feel each day, we have all come a long way and are on that road to freedom from nicotine. millions of others have trodden on that path before us and succeeded and so can we.
keep going
