where to start...I think I have quit smoking hundreds of times and the longest attempt was 2 weeks long so obviously somethiong wasn't right. I realised that I wasn't doing it for the right reasons, I was doing it to please others or beacuse I though it was right. I also suffer from OCD so this interfered in my attempts of convincing myself timing etc wasn't right.
Any way I am now on my 3rd day, I quit on the 1st November and I have to do this now for myself. My father has COPD, Grandfather died of lung cancer and Auntie died of a heart attack and I am asthmatic...so I have to stop mesing around before it gets too late!
Wish me luck!

Day 3 is great just hang in there lots of us on here have tried many times in the past to stop but you have to want it for you OK
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathising with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here
are 2 I found very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
remember to celebrate yr acheivments, this really supports your decision to stop smoking.
I put on music I love real loud and jump around dance and celebrate each morning ar when i get over a huge hurdle. say at 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months or when ever i need to feel good about giving up. You'll b suprised how much this helps.
Also making yourself laugh is great too, so sometimes when u celebrate just be silly, no-one watchin and it really helps yr mind.
whatever u focus on becomes yr reality, and empower it with strong positive emotions, the sub-concious responds to this very pwerfully.
thank you everyone for your support, now on to day 4 and am feeling fine. My asthma is very bad at the moment so this is encouraging me and keeping me on the straight and narrow.
Sometimes I cant help think that I hadnt had my fill almost and it wasn't the right time, although Im sure this is just the nicotine talking!
Well done getting to day 3 that's great keep going
We all get thoughts like you're getting when we quit honest but as you rightly guessed this is the Nico :eek:Demons talking they want their fix just continue to starve them and they'll get weaker and weaker Promise
