A slight break through on day 4.

This is the first morning i have woke up not thinking about getting up to have my early morning cuppa taken with 3 cigs. I suppose that in it self is a possitive step but i still just feel so flat and lost, like something is missing in my life. I feel like i still dont want a cig but just wish i could feel a little more normal like my old self. Anyone else got this problem and how long before it passes.????????????

Of course your going to feel a loss as you have lost your evil little friend that was slowly killing you. It was there when you felt happy and when you felt sad and if you think about it, your fag was your best friend.

But you have had a big fall out and your not taking it back so you have to go through a grieving process. You can even go for councelling at your local NHS clinic.

But once you ride through this process you will learn that there is life after that dirty evil habit that had taken over your life

No cigarette will ever cure an illness or solve a problem

Hi Flipper

There's no easy way, but it's got to be worth it in the end.

When I want a cigarette, my way of coping with this (for what's it's worth) is to ask myself if I could turn the clock back and have a second chance, would I have bought/smoked that first cigarette?

I bet every single smoker in the land wishes the answer to that one was 'No'.

Well, this is your second chance to have that 'first' cigarette. This time make the right decision.

Hang on in there - it gets easier

Well done you have stopped, that's is the best bit and the early days are the ones to cement your quit. Being a bit sad is normal, you could read some info on the websites some of us have in our signatures, it will help you to understand the nicotine addiction and what you are experiencing at this time.

Lots of good luck coming your way.

Thanks you

Thank you, both of you, i know you are right, i can really relate to the senario of would I ever have that first fag again and the answer is No way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And thats the way i need to think of it from now on.

I am having a really bad morning at work where i seem to be constantly exposed to idiots. I have just had a run in with one of our suppliers but felt much better after cancelling the order and ripping every page out of their catalogue. phewwwwwwwwww thats better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Where are all the other day 4ers today? i am sure that i am not alone getting to day 4 and i hope you lot are all having a better day.

lets keep smiling :D:)

Hi flipper

You're not alone....I made it to day 4 as well. :D

Sorry you had a bad morning, the mood swings are a real pain. I vented my short fuse by email this morning making me feel a whole lot better.

I know what you mean about something missing, I felt like that a couple of times today when I would have normally gone for my smoke break. I am putting it down to the habit. Guess we have to get used to our lives revolving to a differnt beat now, we just need to find it.

Good luck for the rest of this evening and see you fo the day 5 check in tomorrow.

No matter what, just get through today any which way you can, and i'm sure tomorrow will seem so much brighter.

I had a day 3/4 slow point and i was really moody too during those days, but once i woke on day 5, things started working out well, i hope the same happens for you, and i'm sure it will

Well done both getting to day 4.

The first week is by far the worse and once you have got to day 7 you will be so proud of yourself. Things are strange at the start but get easyer. i smoked 40 + a day for 35 years but it gets normal not to smoke Honest.xxxxx
