Back again after my last attempt 2 years ago ended after 2 weeks when I was doing so well.
Now on Champix, day 12 on the tablets and day 2 completely cig free. Very determined to stop this time but struggling with Champix, the side effects are horrible. Dont know how long I can cope with the sickness, but at least it keeps my mind of the cigs!!
Cravings are non existent, but the sickness, headache, heartburn, etc, etc make up for it.
Have smoking friends coming for dinner tonight and OH has still not quit (has clinic appointment this week) so it will be a bit of a test.

Well done day 2 smokefree just hang in there it gets better very soon
I also used champix but didn't ahve the side effects apart from a little nausea first thing in thew moring solved by taking later
The side effects you're having are very usual but if they persist see the Dr who should be able to help with that OK
If the smoke from your friends and OH start to get to you could you maybe leave the room for a few minutes have a word with OH and ask him to stop anyone following you it would just give you a little space if needed
Below is my standard welcome and advice post which I try and give all new members

This link is good for the psychological part of quitting
Felt really rough this morning, had decided to stop the Champix and go cold turkey again. But feel fine now so no doubt I will pop the next pill at 7 tonight.
OH is being great, keeps well out of my way when he smokes and is cutting down loads before his stop date.
Bought myself some chocs for when they all leave me to go for a cig tonight...
Cheers for the welcome and looking forward to joining the week 3 forum this time.
I'm so pleased your OH is so supportive and keeps his smoke away from you also that he's already cut down on his own smoking
Sorry you felt rough this morning but pleased you feel OK now though
try and stick with it as the champix really will help you through and usually the sickness etc doesn't last long but of course it it persistes see the Dr about it
Enjoy the chocs when the others have their fags remember the nicotine will all be out of your system after today as well
Keep at it Lorna. I don't take Champix myself, but have heard really good reports about it. The one thing that has been mentioned though is that many people find that taking it with food helps with the nausea and sickness.
