Welcome... Everyone is lovely here. Im on day 7 (woo) and honestly i couldn't have done it without some of the the people on this forum! Ive been in tears writting on here (so close to starting again) and everyone had come up with yet another reason why this is by far, the best decision we've ever made!
This forum is a massive release, and check out the websites given by bibleblack, i spent hours going through them and i keep refering to them when im having a bad day!!
Good Luck.... and remember were all here for you!!!
Welcome to the forum and well done on the decision to quit possibly one of the most important you will ever make and you will be losing nothing but you will regain control of your life and that has to be good
You will find all the help and support you need on here as we all help each other just like a family we are here for you every step of the way cheering the good days and sympathiseing with the bad but the good far outweigh the bad
Read the posts on here you will find a lot of tips and advice and in the signatures of a lot you will find links to other sites just click on them Here are 2 I find very good to start you off whyquit.com and woofmang.com Read, read and then read some more as the more you read and learn about why you smoked and about your addiction the easier your quit will be
Don't worry about past failures, just remember the lessons you learn't from them and look forward to a happy and smoke free future
........... and welcome to the forum and the start of a new life I too had purple feet & toes for a long time but after 15 (whoopee) days of not smoking they are looking pretty good I am pleased to say. I have gone from not being able to breathe, constantly coughing, night & day. Often felt like I was drowning my chest was so bad. I cannot begin to tell you the difference in how I feel. I am 48 & till 2 weeks ago felt one hell of a lot older beleive me. I was faced with the prospect of being on oxygen due to COPD in just a few years if I did not stop. despite knowing that i still thought just one more, just one more. I cannot bear to leave my loved ones because of something I have done to myself. At the age of 35 I found out I had breast cancer. I was terrified that I would die. Not for me but my 2 beautiful boys. I was not smoking then. Had stopped I am glad to say. If the worst had happened at least I know it would not have been because of something I did. I hope I am making some sense :(.What I mean is if I get poorly from sonething I cold have stopped that is MY fault. ) Rambling a bit now, sorry. What I mean to say is you are doing THE BEST POSSIBLY THING FOR YOU & YOUR FAMILY. Keep it up, always here for you. Love Gaynor. xxx
B***s to the spelling Gaynor you came across admirably (purple feet and all) if two weeks has made so much difference to your health it will be worth it in the end wont it, and if it works for you why not for Doey and the rest of us. David
Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your decision to quit. You'll find plenty of support on here, with a wealth of experience. Post whenever you like. Keep strong and you can beat this thing.

i dont wish to sit on my pity pot,but have had a hard time these last 8 yrs,i know i have to put myself first ,and do this for me,its just so hard, but hey knowing you folks are with me every step of the way,is one hugh step for me.
i really want to stick around and see my 2 little grandbabies grow up.
its time i put on my big girls pants ,and do something positive for me.
Welcome Doey and welcome from me as well Education and understanding why you smoke is a huge part of a successful quit! Especially during tough times/craves..... read, read, and read some more..... it helps with transforming the 'I need/want a fag' to 'I'm so glad I don't have to smoke'..... when you make that mental switch, you will find things will become relatively easy! A whole first day for you!! Great job Glad to have ya!!
