Urges...still :(

argh...bad day...seem to be having a few recently for some reason :(

Feel a bit emotional and not sure why - maybe pmt is provoking it or something. I haven't really had any of the urges like I'm having at the moment since a few weeks ago...I haven't used my inhalator at all for a few days - could this be why?

YES! There are quite a few people here who seem to have jumped off their NRT a few days ago. I am starting to wonder if thats anything to do with being made to feel a failure about being on it and just coming off it CT. If you have come off it then you will suffer the physical withdrawel and then a probable mental withdrawel which may knock you back if you come off too quickly. From personal experience if you push through the mental craves and try and stay positive it all calms down quite quickly. Saying that, I may be wrong! Everyones quit is different. xx

Im getting urges like when I used to crave for a cigarette so I'm thinking this is more than a mental urge...and I've left my inhalator at home :( Won't be back until 6ish so I'm going to just deep breathe until then...

I've learnt a lesson I think I'm not ready to come off it yet...when I do I will cut down and mentally prepare I think as I just decided I didnt use it one day so I wouldn't bother using it again.

Ah well.

Thanks Fiona xx

I am also quitting with the inhalator and a week or so ago I had come off it. However, when I went away for the weekend, my husband is still using his and I had to use it as well because I had bad cravings. So I came back, started using it again and started the cutting back again.

I dont feel a failure because I have given myself 12 weeks to get off it and I am already on Day 3 again but not going to get stressed out if I have to make a grab for it again. I feel even more confident on this second attempt of quitting the NRT so maybe it gets easier as well!!!!

Does that make sense!!!?

Perfect sense Nog. You'll get off it when you're ready, you're right to say you're not going to let it get you down, after all, all that time smoking, what difference does a couple of weeks make. This is a stop smoking forum and not a stop nicotine one as some people would like. Love. David.xxx

Hi Coralie :D

I know next to nothing about any form of NRT I'm afraid, but listen to what the others are saying, it makes sense to me

Like Fiona I've noticed that several people have come off NRT in the last few days, I hope this is not because of being made to feel a failure for taking/using it

I assure you if this is the case, you're not a failure at all, it doesn't matter how you quit, or what you use as an aid to help you

All that matters is that you quit and stay quit OK
