Bloating!!
When does the bloating go??! I'm on day 11, and am coping reasonably well, had an awful day yesterday though, work stuff etc really wanted a cigarette, I certainly didn't have one though! But lingering behind the nicotine withdrawal is this terrible bloated feeling, I cannot shake it, in the beginning I ate a lot more and thought that was it but I went back to normal eating about 4 days ago, going to the gym most days as well, but still feel like I'm going to pop!
Does anyone else have this? What causes it? Thankyou, Monkey 'givingupforgood' Bar-Steward x
Lol
.... brilliant logo....lol
Well, the bloating is an odd thing... Over the years and throughout several quits... I have gone from being so bloated that I went to the emergency room to (this time round) not being bloated at all.... with a reasonably good output (stool).... not sure why.... The bloating ought to go away after 2 weeks, but it also depends on your normal 'production' schedule. I do note that not smoking has significantly changed my nr. 2 habits regardless of what I consume in terms of food.. I would (yes, I know this is disgusting, but it has to be addressed) normally have 1 coffe and 1 smoke and then go within 15 minutes and when I say GO I mean GO... huge and then nothing for 24 hours, but I do go (and always have) at least once per day.... Now (post smoking) I still go in the morning after coffee, but not nearly as big a portion.... and it has gone from softish to harder.... and I often give it another go in the late afternoon or evening..... but no gas this time around... try prunes....
I haven't had any bloated feeling really, still regular with the nr 2's but they do seem to have stiffened up somewhat in consistency. I did have a lot of wind in the first week, maybe you just need to fart more:confused:
Steve, I'm definitely with you on the coffee and smoke 'change of production' thing...! Tried to address it this morning by getting out the juicing machine, in my juicing recipie book it says never to mix vegatable and fruit juices as it will make you go to the loo.....I thought brilliant, here's my answer, so 4 apples, 4 celery sticks, 1 x cucumber and a bag of spinach later and nothing..... oh john.t5 apart from the wind - I'm so sorry about this post everyone.....!
I've looked into past posts and it seems that some but not all quitters do suffer from bloating, I wonder what causes it though...prunes it is then...
Quite scary really how nicotine really messes around with your insides, I knew that throughout my whole smoking 'career'... but the symptoms were never as obvious as this...
Well done to all the Monkey Bar-Stewards going into week 3 today, I'm not too far behind, see you in week 3 very soon!!
I was amazed
because I did recall the days before smoking and how the nr. 2 was much harder (I did not start smoking till late 20's so I still recall the presmoking days quite vividly).... and that I can confirm.... is true.... your stool does get much harder and it does make me wonder what the bloody hell the nicotine must have done to my colon, intestines, etc...
All pooh talk aside for just a moment, where on Earth did you find that pic, givingupforgood?! It's spot-on!
Aww thanks Chuddy! Tis rather apt isn't it, can we use it for our logo?
