Thanks everyone, technically it isn't until 1:26 PM, but who cares.

This place and the people here have been a great help. Both the encouragement I have received from and given to others has enabled me to stay focused on my quit.

I still fancy a smoke from time to time but can easily dismiss the feeling. I now regard myself as someone that used to smoke rather than someone that is trying to quit, but staying stopped still requires me to be on my guard at all times.

I have found in the past that it is all too easy to fall onto complacency and believe that I have beaten the addiction, when in reality I am only managing it.

Never take another puff!!

I strongly beleive that that sentence there is the single most important lesson that a quitter needs to learn to be successful.

It took me too many attempts to learn that. The one time I got far enough with a quit to imagine I had won, because I didn't realise I was still addicted, I fell back into slavery.

Like you, I will not fall into that trap anymore.
