I didn't celebrate passing day 100 cos it slipped by without me knowing. That has to be a pretty good sign methinks and cos it goes to prove that smoking now takes a complete back seat in my thoughts. Thinking about smoking now is a kind of ambivalent passing thought.
Anyway I figured I'd celebrate day 122 being pretty much exactly one third of a whole year. I just worked out that I've saved just £50 short of a grand in that time.
Anyway, all that's great but there is something that is just bugging me for an explanation.....
Before I quit smoking I was 12 1/2 stone (that's 175 pounds for our stateside chums). At 6 feet 2 inches tall that was bit on the skinny side, but I couldn't put on weight to save my life. Within about 6 weeks of quitting I'd gone up to 14 stone. With 6 feet 2 inches to spread it over I didn't look that much bigger except I acquired a grotesque belly. Since then I've worked hard to get down below 13 1/2 stone which is more like my ideal weight and the belly doesn't seem to have reduced in size. What's going on here????
