Im at Ckd 3b and got a toe nail fungus on big toe about 1-1/2 years ago. Then, it spread to other big toe before I found out it's pretty contagious. So, this is how i treated it along with my foot doctor . (1) bought a dozen pairs of white socks that I wore whenever I went to bed to prevent spreading it to other toes. (2) soaked both feet separately in vinegar for at least 30 minutes 2 to 3 times a week. I didn't delude the vinegar, but some people do (3);never used same socks when putting on shoes. (4) tried to wear open sandals whenever possible (5) brushed each effective toe with its own pumice stone every day in the shower.
Amazingly, after several months, new nails started to grow and here I am 1-1/2.years from start and its almost over. Nice long new nails grew out damaged ones.
Phew, it's an arduous task and because it's so contagious, its very difficult to cure. And, found out thst vinegar is a strong antifungal. Who knew. BTW none of the prescribed and OTC meds worked for me.
Good luck and be patient.
I got fungal infection in my thumb
I applied anti fungal agents Miconazole Nitrate and Ciclopirox olamine
