Hi I am 5 years post transplant from a living donor recently I’ve noticed waking up some times with minor pain in my transplanted kidney area the pain goes away a little while later has anyone felt this can this be normal ?

Yes! I'm only a year and a half post op but my doctor told me pain over the scar can happen and for some it's lifelong. If it feels like more than then I'd see your doc but otherwise it sounds like it may just be a long term side effect

There are a lot of nerves in your pelvic area, around where your new kidney now lives. Nerves can become entrapped and cause some minor pain. Make sure you mention this to your nephrologist though, just to make sure it's nothing you need checked out. If the pain gets worse you definitely need to have a CT or MRI to make sure it is not a hernia. I got a hernia in my transplant incision (scar). I was having pain all of the time. I had it surgically repaired when I was 14 years out from my transplant.
