Hello all! I've reached 3 months post transplant! My biopsy results came back today and I am super stoked and relieved to report that there are no signs of rejection! I've also reached what my team calls the "3 month slump" where my prednisone is finally low enough that my body can actually rest and not be amped up all the time. I spend some days napping throughout the day and being fatigued, but other days I can get a lot done and run off of my roughly 8 hours of sleep that I get per night. The docs aren't worried since my labs are normal and I still have occasional insomnia as well. My side effects (i.e. bad mood swings/anxiety, tremors, hot flashes, easily bruising) have yet to improve, so the docs are monitoring in hopes that med changes and decreases will help. So far not, but it's still early. I've also begun to exhibit signs of diabetes in my labs, so I've been referred to the diabetes clinic and I check my blood sugar daily.
Overall my gfr is between 81 and 95 and stable. My creatine is averaging 0.86 and I'm feeling good overall! My goal now is to start a regular exercise routine so I can start managing my weight gain from the prednisone and overall feeling better about myself. I currently walk, but I'm hoping that incorporating a variety will make it more fun!
