Foam In urine: Hi I am having foam in my... - Kidney Dialysis
Foam In urine
I am not a doctor. I have lived with chronic kidney failure since I was 22. Now at 74, I am on computer assisted peritoneal dialysis. My kidney failure was diagnosed with creatinine blood level, Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN), Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) and presence of protein in my urine and 24hour urine collection. Several other tests are helpful, such as complete blood count (CBC) as anemia is a side effect of failing kidneys. Good luck as an early diagnosis will help you change your diet to prolong the best kidney health.
I see you're worried that you may have kidney disease. Bubbles in urine can be caused by lots of things: drugs, illnesses (utis, multiple myeloma, etc.), foods (those with spices, proteins, amino acids, salts, caffeine etc.), toilet bowl cleaners, public water treatment practices, and more. A single layer of bubbles that breaks up sooner than later is generally fine. It's easy to notice the bubbles; after all they're right there. But it's very important to remember that bubbles in urine is a very unreliable way to diagnose kidney issues. Instead, focus on your labs (urine and blood). As Magic Noon mentions, your labs are essential in diagnosing kidney issues - creatinine, proteinuria, BUN, etc. Perhaps other data may point to other conditions. So what does the data say? What has your doctor told you? If your labs are normal , then you are exceptionally blessed. Wishing you that your life's path ahead be smooth and trouble-free.
