I have two things yet to do to get back active on the list after being in the hospital for 2 months last fall. One is a discussion with the transplant nephrologist which since I live 3 hours away they said I could do as a telehealth.
That was set up today after dialysis but before it started they called an said no, since I live in OK and he's only licensed for MO and KS I could not do a telehealth. Come to find out that in order to speak with this doc I'd either have to drive into MO/KS and do it from there OR drive the 3 hours into the center to meet with him. BUT only on a Tues or Thur. Those are my dialysis days along with Sat so that's a no go too unless my nephrologist lets me have a day off.
Second is a chest xray. I had a bone scan at the hospital here last Monday and asked to do the xray while I was there. They didn't have any orders. I let the transplant coordinator know and she said she re-did the orders. Now I just need to go back to the hospital and see if they are there. Yay they are so I'll just have to go in.
One thing gone right. It's not the dialysis that wears on me it's setting up and going to doctors appts. At least MY nephrologist shows up at the dialysis center once a month and I don't have to go to him.
Oh, Sat I used my graft for the first time. Put on the numbing cream and it didn't hurt at all. Right now they are only using one needle and one of the chest catheters. They tried to put in a second needle but could not get it. Instead of messing around they just did the one and the catheter.
I'm having the worst luck too....last Thur I took the garbage out and as I was coming back into the house I tripped and face planted on the concrete sidewalk. My face looks like hell, bruised all over but it doesn't hurt. Nothing is broken at least.
Hope everyone else is having better luck.
