You're asking a lot from us couch potato types :-) I'm tired just from reading that, so I think I'll take a nap.

Seriously, this is good stuff. ALL of us could do more of it, I'm sure, and I'd be at the top of the list of those who should. Working, Dialysis, being caregiver for my dad leaves me little time for myself a lot of days. I guess I get my exercise for the most part taking care of my dad. I'm always busy before work, during work breaks, at lunch, after work and before I start dialysis in the evening. I also still take care of his house as well as mine, so there's always stuff to do at both places. So I guess I'll be doing more planned exercises once my dad is gone and I finally decide to stop working (jury is still out on that decision). I think I will look forward to actually doing some of these more fun exercises rather than chores! Silver Sneakers is available to me through my insurance plan. I might join some of those groups as well.

So thanks for sharing this. I think i will do some of these while sitting here typing to all you guys :-) Try multitasking!

some of them are sitting down so even a couch potato can benefit doing them while sitting

Thanks! Walking the dog is pretty much the only exercise I do these days.

Yeah right now all I get is getting out of bed and walking to and from the microwave to my desk chair. I'm hoping once I start I'll have more energy but with my low ALB it's doubly hard.

I know excercise . is hard especially since just had the surgery . I am really anemic so I tired easily but I push myself probably more than I should that always been my problem . I can’t go for my Mike walks right now but each day I make myself walk just a little farther than the day before it may be slow but I know it something I must do for me. Since the surgery I just got up to a 20 minute walk .

Note to all these excercises were just a share if you wanted to look I’m not pushing it on anyone I just know the more knowledge we have helps us .

When I was training for ultramarathons I had a goal and a plan on how to get there, right now I have no goal other than to "exercise" or at least walk 30 min every day until I can do more but even that is hard to come by right now. My excuse right now is I don't want to get sweaty with no ability to shower...lame I know.

Thanks for sharing.

The only ab exercise I was allowed to do was Planks. Those help prevent hernias in a PD patients abdomen. I started at 5 seconds and was up to a minute in a year.

I also walked a lot, to treat my restless leg syndrome.

If I didn't walk for at least half an hour each day, I would get it. After a year I was up to 3 miles in 45-55 min, depending on my health that day. Walking helped me with restless leg syndrome and helped strengthen my heart and lungs before the transplant surgery.
