Is it possible to have an allergy to the dyasilate solution used in peritoneal dialysis?

Yes! My hubby, a diabetic, was allergic to the sucrose-free purple bag solution. His diabetes numbers soared instead of dropping, his blood pressure went off kilter, etc. He looked terrible. So his doctor quickly removed him from it. Many months later, he could carry some of the purple fluid without complications. We suspect the reaction may have been influenced by hubby's other meds that weren't there at the second trial. It's a chemical world out there. Be watchful and don't wait to report issues. Blessings.
