Hi. I just started dialysis 1 week ago. I have fluid overload. My legs hurt so much. Do any of you have any suggestions for the pain?

Be careful of the fluid overload. I had a problem with everything not draining and it went to my lungs. Ended up in hospital. Are you doing cycler?

Is it pain from cramping or from too much fluid? If it's cramping, wrap the leg in a warm blanket and have the nurse/tech stand so you can push your foot against them. They may need to put you in minimum for awhile or give you oxygen or a little fluid. On the whole, the dialysis should help you to lessen your fluid load, but it may take several treatments to see a difference. I am talking about hemodialysis.

Hi there, you must be drinking to much liquids. If you’re on PD do manuals besides your treatment it will help.
