I take Chitosan. Not sure if it’s working because I don’t know what my creatinine would be if I did t take it. I know it’s creeping up but according to my doctor, it’s increased slower than most patients he sees. I attribute that to God and all the supplements I take. Hope this helps you😀

Thanks ,What is Chitosan and where is it available? What are the supplements you are taking?

I assume you are not on dialysis

A sugar derived from shellfish. Has many uses, inflammation, blocks fat from entering blood, anemia. I use to help lower creatinine. Some health food stores carry it or you can order online. I get mine from LifeTIME. 1000 mg

I also take other supplements designed for polycystic kidney disease. I ordered a program by Duncan Capistrano, when I first started this and he listed what to take in my particular case. So it depends on what you have as to which supplements to take

Hi Mr Bunkin,

How many doses of 1-000- mg chitosam do you take/ Are you on dialysis?

Is It worth investing in Duncan Capistrano. From what I gather, he has stopped practicing kidney disease for some years and is now concentrating in e marketing.

would appreciate a reply

I take 4000mg Chitosan. Was taking 3000 but upped it since last labs. I am not on dialysis yet but expect for him to say it’s time next appointment which is next week. I was diagnosed in 2003 but when they told me there was nothing you could do for it, I just forgot about it. In November 2015 I had to go to Er for diverticulitis and was reminded that I have PKD. My GFR was 11. Started researching and found Duncan’s program and ordered it. To me it was worth it. I believe it has kept me off dialysis this long so I am grateful. My doctor is impressed I’ve done as well as I have. My GFR now is 7 so I’m preparing for the news! I have tried other things but none seem to work that well. The hard thing is you don’t know if it’s just you’re getting worse or how worse you’d be if you hadn’t done anything. I walk a mile every day and I have no swelling or weight gain or loss. Hope this helps you!

Also I’m a firm believer that God has gotten me this far. I certainly haven’t done it all on my own. Prayers for you, God can do anything 😀

Hi Mr Bunkin,

Thanks for your reply. What was your Creatinine and GFR in 2003 and and when did you start following Duncan's programme.

My husband GFR was 30 in 2013 and is now 12. creatinine is 5 . Doctor was saying when GFR is 10 , he will start dialysis. Also he was saying if so well so fatigued, that you can't brush your teeth, u must start dialysis. His Haiemoglobin is low and we are waching his potasssium intake.

I am giving him low salt diet, green juice, barley water, and turmeric tea. No protein.

Doctor has discouraged me from taking herbs like neetle, dandelion, parsley etc.

I hope he agrees for Chitosam. Which brand are you taking. Life time is a website or company

How are you able to keep the weight. Are you eating proteins? What is your age?

Am grateful for your support. We are seeing the doctor next week, and let's see what he says.

I don’t know what my numbers were in 2003. Went to ER with chest pain. As I was leaving they said, by the way do you know you have polycystic kidney disease? I said no, what can be done for it ? They said othing and sent me on my way so I didn’t take it seriously. Fast forward to 2015 and GFR was 11. That’s when I bought the program. The company is LifeTIME. I try to walk a mile every day. Sometimes less, just depends on how I feel. I just turned 58 last Sunday. I do eat some protein. I try not to eat fast food. If I eat red meat it’s only once a week. I drink a lot of water. I have a cup of nettle tea every day. I was very bad with my diet during the holidays and my phosphorus was high at my labs in January. Going tomorrow for labs. Have been trying to cook more at home. I’m satisfied that I have done everything I could possibly do to postpone dialysis. But I’m preparing myself if he says it’s time., Y’all are in my prayers! Never give up! If you want to know anything else, just ask. I’m happy to help you all I can😀

FYI got my labs back and everything had improved. I had increased Chitosan to 4000 mg a day. My creatinine went down. Phosphorus was down, potassium down. GFR went up one point. Hope this helps you! Doctor said my labs were excellent!
