Protein in urine
Hi there, protein in urine can be controlled through diet and medication. Please discuss with your doctor.
If you have not already, go see your Dr. right away about this. Proteinuria (protein in the urine) can be caused by different things. Your Dr. will probably refer you to a Nephrologist (kidney specialist). They may do blood, urine and other tests to determine the cause. The sooner the cause is determined the sooner they can begin treatment (if needed) and the greater the chance the treatment will be effective. Don't ignore this.
You need to know how much protein in urine. Also would ask doctor to check your blood pressure, glucose and kidney blood test. Sometimes protein in urine maybe sporadic but would get repeat urine done when not exercising. Good luck. I am glad you asked this question....
Protein in your urine can be an early sign of kidney disease. It's important to have your urine (ACR) AND blood tested (GFR). To learn more about these tests visit: kidney.org/atoz/content/gfr
