High BP Problems

Has anyone had the problem of their BP shooting up into the 200's while on the machine? It is usual for people's BP to drop while on dialysis but my son's shoots up and no one seems to know why or how to remedy it.

jtowarnicki Hi. I have high BP and most times it doesn't go down during my routine or it will drop a little but go back up from the saline rinse back. Never heard of BP going up. Just suggestions the person may have an artery problem or maybe the chemicals used to clean the blood make the BP high. I have no clue but I hope & pray they will figure it out because high BP is not good. You are in my prayers.

The first three years my dialysis my BP was high on the machine, but after first few years it went down. I do know that at first few years the EPO or ARENASP did make my BP shoot up, those years I asked my doc to decrease the dosage, it worked.Now the med don't raise my bp now.Hope your son's BP will get better.

Thank you. I will have my son take this info to dialysis tomorrow. His BP is running high daily and he is taking a bunch of meds for it but for some unknown reason when he is on the machine his BP spikes even higher. Nobody seems to know why.
