Hello everyone. Been on peritoneal dialysis since 2015. Its a little time consuming but I deal with it. I know it could be worse, but it gets hard to get people who do not have kidney disease to understand what you go through. Not gonna give up. I was a fire fighter really miss that job really liked helping and saving people and there homes.

You go girl!! Hang in there with all of the spunk and determination and our amazing God that you have. He is our answer and He knows our outcome. You keep being a shining beacon and people will begin to understand and want to know more.
I'm in your corner all the way!!
Good morning!!!!! Why did you not do the cycler? That fits in your lifestyle. That way you can still be doing the job you love and only do dialysis at night for 8 hrs.
24 hour job on call. When that bell rings you gotta be ready to go. Cycler doesn't work for me too painful and can't sleep with all the clicking noises very light sleeper.
ive been on dialysis 4yrs have good days and bad ones, but im blessed im 84yrs. im happy your not giving up thank you for your service. yes your right people just don't understand what we go through. god bless you
I understand what you mean. We may look healthy, but we are not!
I was on peritoneal dialysis for about 6 months, but it was stealing all of my albumin. It got down to 1.3. So I had to change to hemodialysis. I certainly understand your frustration with the time issue. I don't think anyone who hasn't experienced our illness and what we deal with can understand unless they really want to listen. People just have the time in our "hurry up" lifestyles. I'll be here to listen anytime you need to talk. Hang in there, you are a beautiful woman.
Hi, I am due to go on PD in January 2018 and despite having read a lot about it, I have not been in touch with any other patients, so am very interested in others' experiences.
Thanks
Elizabeth
