I have been on dialysis for 5 years. I was told that I couldn't even get on the waiting list because I have something else (COPD) wrong with me. If everyone was in perfect health, why do they have kidney disease?

I don't have perfect help but lungs are s major and the risk is great during surgery.

That's awesome that you got a new kidney!! How were things in your life right after the surgery? Was the pill regimen difficult? Once you recovered was your life "normal"? Did you stay with the "kidney diet" or just eat as healthy as possible?

I really hope you are enjoying everyday to the fullest!!

One more question ☺...Did you have a live or cadaver donor?

Cadaver diner Try to eat healthy. You get use to the pill thing and I'm working and enjoying life

Good to hear from someone with first hand experience.

I started Water Aerobics this morning. M,W, F. On the off days we will walk or do the machines. I blistered my toes in the pool today.🤣 Always something!!

Trying to get really healthy. The water aerobics were really great!!

Are u in line for kidney? Sounds like u r doing all I did before surgery. The steroids after will put the weight on!!

I am on the transplant list. My husband is in the process being qualified to be my donor. Has to get his bp down before they will consider him. It's not real high, but they won't consider him again for 3 months. God knew. So he's walking two miles almost every day and we joined the local gym. He'll do well. He really wants to give me a kidney.
