I have had stage3 . I have had it for 18yr. It started ask if he could have a word with me outdoors. At that time I didn't know how to read B/W. He told me he could lose his job if I was to talk about our conversation and proceeded to tell me that my kidneys were failing, and he had been watching that go on for awhile. I wish he had told me when it first started. I made an appointment with another M.D. She took me off to medications that are never taken every day. At that time, I had been on them for 2yrs. She sent me to a nephralgiast . I have B/W done every 3mo. I watch my diet now and that is about all that can be done. There isn't any med. to reverse the damage. I only wish I had known how to read B/W. With the computer, we can now do that. I hope this will be of help.

Hi. I'm Sandra from Kansas. I've had CKD for 11 years now that I know of. I only have one kidney, have had all of my life. I did not find out until I was 18. I was the septic shock 11 years ago and went through kidney failure. My kidney was damaged at that point. I have had sepsis 12 times in that 11-year period period. I am in stage 3b too. My last Labs my eGFR was 39, BUN 40 & Creatinine 1.5. My labs have been much worse at times. I'm not on any special medications to prevent the damage and I'm not on any special diet. I take plenty of medications but for other comorbidities. I am on TPN, total parenteral nutrition, which means I get fed directly into my veins. They tell me I could be in this stage for the rest of my life so I just don't worry about it. I don't take things like ibuprofen and we avoid meds that are metabolized through the kidney, but that's about it
Sounds like you are doing all you can. My mum (aged 69, CKD3 for 14y) also takes no medication and adopts a Nutritional Therapy protocol @🤞🤞
Hi Sally. Congratulations for making it to 83, you must be doing many things right.
