I’ve just been put on this drug by my doctor who said it was recently approved by nice for slowing down kidney progression and improving heart help.

Does anyone know or have experiences of using this drug?

I've been on Jardiance since Jan 23. I can't say its slowed my CKD down but it has reduced the protein in my urine significantly

Hi Jodaer, could you tell me where your proteinuria level was before and after? I'm still struggling with this issue! Thanks.

In Feb 2023 it was 3985 and in May 2024 it was 380. I'm set to get more labs in Sep. I've also cut back on animal protein a lot too.

That is a big decrease! Great to hear! Mine is about like yours now. I've been on losartan and eating low protein. Darn stuff won't go away!

I've been on it for about 6 months now, went from GFR of 55 to 65 recently. Proteinuria has gone down a little bit. Haven't had any side effects.

I've just started taking Emagliflozin for kidney disease with an eGFR that fluctuates in the 30s. Research suggests it's good not only for diabetes and heart issues, but can help stop kidney progression. I'm reassured by the comments of other members who've found it raised their eGFR significantly, but would like to know what side effects people have experienced. The product leaflet has a daunting list of common side effects.
