Friends, I am requesting your prayers as I go for a humerus(arm) biopsy and also colonoscopy next week. It looks like metastatic breast cancer with a couple more questionable sites. Maybe I'll get a couple of meals on Tues. Otherwise it's 4 days of liquid diet! I've been trying for weight loss but ...

Wrapping my arms around you in a big virtual hug! Life throws many things at us, and cancer is one that catches our attention quickly. Others in this community have also struggled with cancer in addition to kidney disease and it's very likely you will hear from them. It's fortunate that we live in the 21st century with updated treatments! Sending up prayers that peace surrounds during the process and all turns out fine.

you are in my thoughts and prayers. I’ve just been diagnosed with keukemia at 13 months post transplant. Thankfully my new kidney is doing well. I’ll see my hematologist oncologist on January 5th. His nurse gave me basic information about T-LGL leukemia, which is what I have. It looks as though it is nowhere nearly as serious as I had feared.

Hoping for positive outcomes for you too. Regardless, I was pleasantly surprised to hear from this same oncology nurse how far cancer treatments have come over the past few decades. So all is certainly not lost should your results be malignant. But for now, as difficult as it is, one step at a time.

stay positive in your thinking. My sister went through something similar a few year back and she is 78 now. The meds will get to you but just keep smiling and fighting. In my prayers!

I, too, am a cancer survivor with CKD and a host of other conditions. Life takes us down some difficult roads, and I don't know about you, but sometimes I wonder why some of us have so many health problems. Be sure you get all the information you can, and as best as you are able, advocate for yourself. I echo the thoughts of some others here. Cancer treatments have come a long, long way. Prayers for strength and healing for you, and wisdom to treat properly for your care team.
