hi everyone my name is Sharon, I’m 54 I have stage 2 kidney disease which I didn’t know I had it look’s like I have a kidney stone I keep getting water infection’s and it has made me very sick I have had cancer treatment back in 2010 I’m not sure if that is still causing my infection’s.

Hi Sharon,

I am sorry that you went through cancer ans are now going through this. Stage two is not as bad as it may initially sound. You have time to detect the root of the problem and stop the illness from advancing.

When I realized I had kidney stones I was already in stage 3A. The important thing is to get rid of the stones, and not let the CKD advance if possible. I am in the US. So, I am not sure what water infections are. But, I can tell you that kidney stones can cause UTI infections, and viceversa. I was put under the care of a nephrologist, who managed my CDK with a combination of diet and meds. Unfortunately my kidneys were too far gone. I was diagnosed in 2014. I had advanced to stage 4 by 2018, I had a nephrectomy in 2020 to get rid of the last stones and a kidney that was causing more trouble than help. I finally got my transplant last March. Bottom line. You need to find the root of infections and the type of kidney stones you have as well as what produces them. A nephrologist can help you identify all that, so you can have a stone free kidney and stop CKD progression. I have no experience with cancer Hope, so can't say anything on that. Hope this helps.

Hi Sorry you had to go though bad health your self I’m glad your feeling better now. I will be seeing my GP next week so hopefully she will be able to tell me more about the kidney stone that I have. I had radiotherapy in 2010 for womb cancer I was told when I had my treatment that it might cause water infections which I have a lot of. Thank you take care of your self. Sharon
