i read an article that said insurance was going to stop covering weight loss drugs like ozempic and wegovy and a list of others.i wish i could remember the website but i thought id pass it on

No surprise there. For heavens sake, even WHO consider them ineffective and unsafe!

No they don't. They just want more long term studies. These glp1 drugs are diabetes drugs that have been around a long time. It is only the higher doses used primarily for weight loss, they want more studies of. These are game changing drugs that will revolutionize obesity treatment once fat bigots follow the data instead of myths.

Please explain why you disagree with the quite clear statement shown:

"...a WHO expert panel on Wednesday recommended against adding the drugs for weight loss, citing the "uncertain long-term clinical benefit and safety in this patient population".

Of course, they add "..the medicines MAY be reconsidered in future when there is more long-term evidence" but they are currently considered uncertain in terms of clinical benefit and safety so not on the list.

There is no monolithic "insurance." Like with all drugs every policy is different.
