article on yahoo about ozempic
No doubt they'll try WHO next who have not approved any slimming drugs on the basis of "uncertain long-term clinical benefit and safety in this patient population"..
Also on Yahoo last week was a headline article on 2 women on Ozempic who ended up with stomach paralysis, and were throwing up all day long.
Really! Drug reps have been doing this for years and years. I’ve been in medical field for 46 years. Lunches, nice dinners. Conventions. Could fill pages . It’s on everything medical. This drug is not unique to that. Yes all drugs have risk. Even over the counter drugs. You have weigh risk vs benefit. I would never take a drug til it was out for awhile. Then even drugs out for years the safety profile starts changing. Right now the benefits of this medication look good. Obesity is at a pandemic and people’s health is shit. Nutritional value of food is horrible. It’s modified. Fast food. Etc. This drug doesn’t do anything to teach patients good eating habits or exercise etc. It does give them the desire to be healthier and hopefully they will learn to make better choices when they come off the drug.. I do believe it is better to get from a pharmaceutical company then compounded because It not as regulated.
i see what you mean but for crying out loud everything i research has side effects i cant handle or my doctor says no go
I was on Ozempic for 18 months and just went off cold turkey as my GFR dropped to 14. I noticed another poster on here who had been on it the same amount of time was getting lower GFR too, so I asked my PCP if it could be the Ozempic hurting my kidneys? Went from 21 to 14 in 6 months. Initial info did not say anything about it, but further digging in medical book said yes it can hurt kidney function. I was sad to go off because I lost more weight than ever and finally was feeling better about my body, and hopeful I could lose another 25 pounds. But the damage is not worth it. Since going off I have not thrown up once (was regular on it) my glucose levels are still in great range (112) without any other glucose meds. In fact, PCP put me on Glipizide but I went down to 37 and took myself off, am monitoring glucose levels closely. So far I have not gained any weight back, but am hungrier than when on it. I am going to try and stick to my renal diet as much as I can and get my gfr up a little if possible and phos back down (4.5 now). No drug is perfect, but I think long term studies need to be done on these new drugs before releasing to the public. Of course, money is the main objective though, not patient.
There are websites where you can see doctor's names, the drug they're pushing, and how much they are being compensated for their efforts. Here is one of those sites. projects.propublica.org/doc...
mine wasnt pushing near as bad as some of the others listed.he hasnt tried to push any on me so far he seems to be actually listening to me and hasnt stuck me on any new meds.
Thanks for sharing this website. I’ve just checked and, sure enough, 3 if my firmer physicians including 1PCP and 2 nephrologists are listed and have received significant pay for pushing medications they prescribed for me. Just disgusting!
Thankfully none of my current doctors are listed on this website or that with Medicare. We simply need to be vigilant.
