I know I have protein in the urine. Some days the foaming/ bubbles are more than other days.
Is it possible to leak more protein on certain days than others?
Thanks

Probably but this is a question you should ask your doctor.
Hi. My nephrologist told me, when I asked, that there was a correlation between how many bubbles in urine to how much protein in urine. The more bubbles the more protein. But always ask your own doctor. Good luck
I've seen this same thing when I urinate. Just guessing but it might have to do with what you've eaten or drank prior to urination. I also believe that if you are well hydrated, it may not be as much. I see my Neph every 3 months and do labs each time including urine testing. My last results showed no protein in my urine and I mentioned that to him and shot back quickly that I had proteinuria.
Hi LLWegeners.Nice to hear that you have controlled proteinuria.
Please inform how you have control this.
Like medicine you have taken
Foods
Life style and other things.
What was your initial level of protein in 24 Hrs protein analysis test in urine.
Please suggest
Thanks

Don't get me wrong. I still have protein in my urine. I just didn't have enough to detect that particular day when I went for labs. I too see a variation depending on time of day and hydration level.
I was concerned about foamy urine and have raised it twice with my nephrologist. He dismissed it as not something to worry about.
Everybody has protein in their urine, but normally it's very little. The number and size of bubbles can also be related to hydration levels and the distance your urine drops to the toilet. The more hydrated, the fewer the bubbles and the quicker they pop. Rule of thumb: If all your bubbles have popped before 5 minutes, you're probably ok.
If you wanna see some REAL protein bubbles, put your emptied egg white measuring cup under the faucet. THAT'S protein bubbles.
If I eat sweets, of any kind then the0 bubbles and smell gets worse. No sugar you should improve.
I had Proteinuria for 30 years and my urine never stopped being foamy. If you are diabetic then maybe you would see fluctuations because the Proteinuria is due to inflammation. I would think eating a havy meat diet or stop eating meat will would have some effect but not a large one.
