you may want to make an appt. for a full physical exam. you should make sure that you have a liver function test, kidney labs and a full work up. im assuming that you have not been diagnosed with ckd ? take care.

What did you drink loads of? If alcohol that effects your liver more than your kidneys. You might try some skin softener and lotions.

You do not mention what level of Chronic Kidney Disease you are at. Here is link to an article by Fresenius on skin problems and CKD.

Alcohol can be dehydrating... be sure to drink plenty of water too...Too much Alcohol can hurt your kidneys and most of your other organs...Be better to yourself

Hi, sorry to hear you're itching. Don't know why your head would itch especially unless you have, head lice, I think, which I had long ago when I was young and living with other young folks.

Kidney disease doesn't have many specific symptoms until a lot of damage has been done, so you should get a blood test. If you do have CKD, you can avoid harmful foods and salt and keep your blood pressure down, your kidneys will probably stabilize. Dialysis or transplant can be life saving if your kidneys are badly damaged, which is not likely.

I always wondered why the back of my neck was always itchy................ until I learned it was one of the symptoms of CKD. It itched for months, I haven't had that itchy neck feeling for awhile, not sure why? Maybe my CKD is improving, maybe it's my BP medication, IDK?

I have stage 3 right now.

My issue now is joint pain, it's really bad.

i was having itching long before i was diagnosed with stage 3 ckd. it would be off and on and after being diagnosed i would get it more often.i try my best not to scratch and most times it seems to subside.

Long-term alcohol use can seriously damage the liver. One symptom of severe alcoholic liver disease (or any type of liver disease) is itching. Much like jaundice, the itching can be a sign of liver damage and potential liver failure. My advice is see a doctor ASAP. Link for alcoholic liver disease:
