is it common to break out in a heavy sweat with ckd? Thank you for all replies
kidney disease : is it common to break out in... - Kidney Disease
kidney disease
I know I sweat more and my sweat stinks like it never did before.
I’m beginning to think I might have some heart problems, do you break out in a sweat and not doing anything?
Not that I'm aware of...unless it's a very, very mild hot (more warm rather than hot) flush (or, hot "flash") and not for years. But I have been permanently warm since menopause which is great for ligament/muscle pain but not for having to wash outer clothing after only wearing once!
Yep, like others have said, you need to get it checked out. Even if it is something benign, it's good to understand.
thank you for your reply, I’m definitely going to get it checked out
thank you for your reply
I'm just the opposite - never sweat and am always cold.
I think you need to check this out! Could be your heart or an over-active thyroid? We cannot diagnose on this site...but I have known that sweating to be a part of CKD.
Take care and go see your primary care doctor.
thank you, I’m definitely going to go and have it checked out, I’m in Stage 4 kidney disease
Hot flashes for me I am 68 sometimes I feel like they are never going to go away .
I’m 65, will be 66 in March, if it’s hot flashes, I know I don’t like them and they make me weak at times
I have had hot flashes from 43 onward peri - menopause , to post- menopause. Some women do so do mot . I have a friend who is 85 who still gets them sometimes.
But yes ypu should get them checked out as it can mean otherthings also some cancers can give hot flashes too.
I thought maybe my heart was acting up again but I can’t get into dr until after the first of the year but when my heart acted up before it didn’t act like this
Good grief! Nooooooo!
85!
Say it ain't so!
I'm 80 and still get them.
Yikes! I'm not prepared for this at all! Thanks for the heads up.
It's like someone said... They are not as often and not as bad. I remember the worst one I had, mid menopause. I was driving to work, it was cold out and raining, starting to ice up. I was sweating so bad but I had to turn the defrosters on to keep the windshield clear so I could see. I ended up rolling down the window to cool off and it rained in on me, but it was the only way. Luckily the rain slowed down and so did the hot flash. And, on top of all that I iwas going uphill into a curve.
Sounds frightening!
We women have to put up with a lot!
I have to say that so many of my problems right now are related to my wildly fluctuating hormones. Crying one minute, raging the next. Trying hard to not wring someone's neck! LOL
Happy Holidays to you! Thanks for the reply, that was so kind of you!
You might try Black Cohash. It's supposed to help with hot flashes due to menopause. But do consult your doctor first. Happy Holidays to you too. Deep breath!
I got my primary dr appointment moved up to Jan 11th
Thanks, I am familiar with Black Coohash, I believe it's supposed to increase the effects of estrogen, my 2 kids are from IVF, and I was doing Natural Fertility treatments with a Naturopath, alongside my treatment with my Reproductive Endocrinologist. I will run it by my neph first, but it's worth a try! I can't do HRT because I have had ovarian cancer. You are so kind! Thanks for helping a gal out
That's really interesting, modern medicine and naturopathy hand in hand. I wish more doctors would invest in this practice.
It was all me! I had gone through so many cycles with no luck I started to do some research on my own, my friend is a naturopath and had never dealt with infertility issues before, so she was on board to help. I also saw an acupuncturist who was amazing.
My fertility doctor poo-poed it all.
However, 1st cycle after doing about three months of naturopath treatments I did and IVF and got pregnant with my daughter! And the pregnancy stuck!
What is so weird, and I have told people this, and they do not believe me, I had my embryo transfer on a Friday, so 2 weeks until I could do a pregnancy test. I had an acupuncture appoint on the following Wednesday. First thing he always did was take my pulse. He looked up and looked me straight in the eye and said, Congratulations, you are pregnant. Evidently, pregnant women have something called a "slippery pulse". I told him it was waaaay to early to tell but he said, just wait, I am not wrong.
And he wasn't.
3 years later, same deal, same "slippery pulse" this time a boy.
Anyway lol totally off-topic and somebody will report me for posting this here (lol a lot of that goes on here I see)
Anyway, the combo of natural and regular medicine worked for me and yes, I wish they would co-mingle a bit more!
What a wonderful story. I love hearing things like this. So many pooh-pooh alternative medicine.
I've been told by one 80yro that they don't ever disappear completely but do get mild and not very often?
I’m 65, will be 66 in March, thanks for your reply
I had an 8.6cm cancerous tumor in my right kidney. They removed the tumor and kidney last Sept lst. Before I had the surgery, I was having very bad smelling sweats. My heart is fine at age 77. I started hot flashes 25 years ago. I was told by a health care professional that I needed to address my adrenal glands for the hot flashes. So I take a natural supplement for my adrenal glands and that has 99% controlled them. Some women experience hot flashes their entire lives after menopause.
I had a full hysterectomy at age 23 because of endometriosis, they tried putting me on hormone replacement pills then but they made me as sick as if I was pregnant,I’m 65 now, will be 66 in March, thank you for your reply
i can't answer first hand since im a 70 year old geezer guy but i know my wife was getting them well into her 60s. i tend to get cold easier, especially my feet.
