Lower back pain.

I'm at stage 5 ckd and I have severe lower back pain. My nephroligist says this is unusual. Is it? Does anyone else experience this? All replies greatly appreciated.

I have no symptoms at stage 4-5. ( It bounces between 4 and 5) I would check to see if you have a bladder infection or a UTI, which could cause that kind of pain. Otherwise, it probably is muscle or nerve related.

I have low back pain but it's not from CKD. Where, exactly is the pain? The lower back is about hip level. Kidneys are located up about the waist.

I am having the same issue, though it is fairly new.

My GFR is currently a 9, and I noticed last week that I was starting to get some pain in my lower right side (back - in kidney region). Everyday, the pain slightly worsened until it became almost unbearable. It was almost like a stab, then a locking feeling - very painful.

It seems to have gone away now with not treatment, so I am not sure what was going on.
