Look up ** DaVita website 10 Best foods for Kidneys.
I would add.....buy the veggies and fruits and meat Organic as much as possible. ( especially the Red bell peppers as they really pick up Pesticides)
As your body in general and your Kidneys in particular do NOT need Pesticides and other poisons like Round - Up
be proactive with your doctors.. .make sure they re communicating with each other...and most important DO NOT STRESS Yourself out.Take time for the small things in life as well as family
Whole food plant based is best. (no dairy or oils, no animal anything) Avoid fast and or processed foods. Buy or grow your own organic food when possible. Plants are easier for the body to break down and it gives your kidneys a break. It gives the kidneys a chance to heal. Just don't overdue the plant protein aspect for it will overload the kidneys as well Low impact Exercise at least 30 minutes daily (walking is good). Filter your water! Most importantly, love God first, yourself, family and stay connected to your community. Good for your heart, your soul and your health. Best wishes.
You have to diet to your lab results and your CKD stage. We're all different with different needs. There are some commonalities, but there are differences, too. For example, Some need to watch foods with potassium while others dont. Basically, all need to watch salt/sodium, avoid processed foods, and keep protein intake down. Water intake also has to be watched. Davita does have recipes that categorize them accordingly to stages but not necessarily your particular lab needs.
Overall, it can get confusing if you let it. But, go slow and eventually you'll learn what's good for your particular case. Some people get help from a renal dietitian if one is available.
Good luck
My GP didn't bother tell me or send me to a Neph. Waited 12 months till I was eGFR 17.
