Hi JaneCorn. I take Jardiance, which is a similar drug in the same class of drugs as Farxiga/Dapagliflozin. I know others on the board have experience with Farxiga and will likely provide you with their feedback, but I can tell you the side effects have been minimal if any at all so far. It has only been a couple of months, but so far so good. Sending positive thoughts to you and your husband.

I took it twice. The 1st time for only a few days. I didn't like the way it made me feel. Then several months later I tried it again. My blood sugars went up a bit but even then, I stayed on it until i realized it was causing me addition pain in my hip and also had a sore throat. Before I realized it was the farxiga I thought I was going to have to go to UC because i could hardly swallow. I know many on here on it and have no side effects. Good luck

Hi Janecorn

I took Forgixia even though I m not diabetic

The first time it caused muscle pain and severe cramps but I persevered. Big mistake because My latest gfr showed it had dropped from 41 to 31. I m due to get repeat bloods this week

Ive taken it for about a year. I personally had no side effects. Did improve my gfr a little but staying the same and not decreasing is good at 3B.

Am curious to know if any of you taking these drugs have diabetes and/or proteinuria?

I have just been prescribed Dapagliflozin. My egfr is 39 and has been stable for a 2 years (ramipril and statins for control) . No diabetes or proteinuria. I'll report back on how I find it.

I am curious as to why you are taking a diabetic drug when you don't have diabetes?
