FARXIGA DOSAGE?

I'M 76 - 6.1" & DIABETIC. MY A1C IS AROUND 6 . WHAT SHOULD MY DOSAGE FOR FARXIGA BE? DJH

According to Drugs.com the initial dose should be 5mg. Having said that my doctor just talked me into trying it again and she started me at 10mg. Also according to Drugs.com if eGFR is under 45 you should take it.

I agree with seabreezegirl, this is something you should talk to your medical team about. Do you have the ability to message your doctor through a patient portal? All my doctor offices have this feature and it's great for questions like this.

I am on Farxiga and my doctor discussed all this prior to prescribing the med. At my first bloodwork afterward, my gfr had dropped and she has sent me on to a nephrologist.
