Lasix not working

Have been prescribed Lasix (40mg) to reduce fluid buildup. It is not having any effect. I am not peeing anymore than usual maybe less . Anyone have this experience.

Hi there,Had the same issue you mentioned on 40 mg lasix. Kidney dr put me on 40 mg twice a day and it made the world of difference. In fact only after I take the second pill do I really pee a lot. My ankles and legs are much better because they don’t swell like before.

Hi Uckle,

Please speak to your Dr. If you still have edema you may need to increase your Lasix.

I've been on 40mg. of Lasix for about 20 years. When my edema gets worse I double it, per my Dr.'s advice. You don't want to take too much as you can get dehydrated.

Since I've been on it for a while my body has acclimated to it and I don't pee any more when increasing it.

See what your PCP or Neph thinks about it.
