Here is a link to information on protein in urine from American Kidney Fund, kidneyfund.org/all-about-ki...
What were your results?
Just asking because when I was 28 I ignored my doctor too.
Yea they wanna give me meds but I'm determined to resolve with lifestyle
Yes, don't base medicine on one test result...however depending on age and another test in three months, you might want to reconsider. Also if given meds, start with lowest possible dose. A lot of quacks wants to star with 20 MG when they can give 2.5 mg. Also change you diet to vegan and low protein regardless.
I think a urine test checks for that. It must be a small amount if your albumin is ok. Ask your Dr about this.
Did your neph do a 24hr urine collection? If your albumin is good, it could be a different protein. Albumin is the most common protein we spill in our urine, but there are others. Most test strips only test for albumin, and most docs only run the albumin/creatinine ratio. So if your neph said you had leakage, but normal albumin, what was the type of protein?
