Has anyone did the hair analysis test for minerals and vitamins?

This is my last solution to figure out what’s going on with my body aches. Please let me know if you ever done it before and how was the outcome?

It is a bullshit test. Like the DNA ethnic stuff out there. All scams.

Have you looked into gluten intolerance etc? I had exactly the same symptoms. I get it really bad if I have eaten highly processed foods. I was fine for weeks. Had some super noodles. Next day my hand was like a claw and I was un agony with my knees also. Its just a thought

Check out a book call Yeast Syndrome, or any Candida Yeast diets. Yeast is in many foods, sugar, carbs etc, and if you are sensitive it can cause numerous health issues and body aches. It's not something Drs think of right away unless you're seeing an allergist.

Good luck.

I have gone thru bouts of 4 days really bad pain, then lately it's happening more - like 5 days on 3 off then on and off. I'm thinking parathyroid/calcium problems so getting this tested. It almost lays me flat sometimes.

Yeah tell me about it! I’ve been bedridden and I’m guessing it’s my calcium and vitamin D because I have low bone density. When I take calcium I feel better.

Just noticed this. Do you take vitamin k along with vitamin D?? You need vitamin k to balance the calcium from the vitamin D. If you google it, you will get a better explanation. I was never told by my doctor to take it but after researching vitamin D etc I realised, you are suppose to take vitamin k. As I said, Google it first. Hope you get some sort of improvement.

Oh, and also magnesium with it. Magnesium will increase its efficiency.

Vitamin D can lead to an accumulation of calcium in the bones. Which can cause joint pain

If it's the problem, it's called secondary hyperparathyroidism. She's ordering me a PTH, intact w/out calcium next lab. Also a phosphate test as I never have got one. I'm in 3A ckd. From what I've read it's a lot like my symptoms but I'm hoping it's just my bad mattress!lol

Hey Oceansplash, I was wondering if you’ve done those blood tests and did you get the results?

If I were to take a vitamin test I would do the blood test. But the problem is it is very expensive, like $350-500 and doesn't tell you much for your money (I don't think). Mineral tests like magnesium, d, etc. the Dr. will order. Personally I'd love to order a amino acid test - expensive too - but I worry about my diet and eating so little meat.
