Stage 3,b CKD. Extreme Sweating (inside with AC blasting) and crazy intense full unrelenting body itching. Never seems to go away.

Any idea what could be casing excessive sweating. It's very different from sweating because. Full body sweats. It typically passes after about 30 mins.

I was dx with stage 3b in May 2020 following a complicated urinary diversion. Everything went off the rails after that. Hospitalized 9 times over the past 12 months. It's usually electrolyte imbalance, dehydration or complicated UTI (or similar) infection. I currently have bilateral urostomies plus Nephrostogy tubes in both sides of my back. They are capped and have not been used so far in 2021. At my most recent appointment we discussed taking them out because the hole where the tubes exit the body are leaking and no matter how hard I work and effort given in proper hygiene, changing dressings and infections are commonplace. My Nephrologist has suggested I talk to Urologist about being on antibiotics prophylactically. Still thinking on that because I have had two antibiotic resistant complicated UTIs this year both requiring a six day hospital stay followed by two weeks of IV antibiotics. Most recently I was advised to file for disability retirement (through our state retirement plan) and SSDI. I'm not too concerned about the the idea of having a significant income reduction. The thing that quite literally keeps me up at night is that I will lose my insurance that I had thru work (COBRA? not a viable or reasonable option due to extreme costs..it's automatically paid thru September by COVID subsidy program). But after that? That huge unknown is constantly on my mind. Kidney function averages around 38% and affected by each incident where I end up hospitalized. They stabilize my kidneys, pump me fill of fluids and send me home. Rinse repeat often.

I sympathies with what you are going through. I had a battle with unrelenting body itching a few years ago and it was not a blessing. The only thing that help me was doxepin.

It sounds like you have a lot of health issues. For insurance and other considerations you may want to file for medicare disability. I was near retirement and that’s what I did.

I agree WinJ3. Our bodies can be complicated. Medicare disability and or Medicaid is a good possibility for insurance . Maybe the COBRA carrier would be able to help find a coverage?

So sorry for all your problems. The only answer for you sweating and itching is through your doctors. Not so sure that's from your kidneys it might be something else. Also maybe talk to a social worker at the hospital about your insurance dilemma they might be able to help. Keeping you in my prayers hopefully you will find some solutions.

I have had itching for years too. No diagnose on itching. Also have dermal scrtiptography (skin writting). Skin shows red marks seconds after scratching lighgly. Nightsweats but ok during day, they said may be low testerone. For itching I've taken zyrtech (Costco generic is decent).
