I've been noticing recurrent pain around my kidneys, and after an ultrasound last year my doctor found that I have nephrocalcinosis. No follow up tests were done, which I found odd, but the pain persisted. Finally I was able to get a new family doctor, and she ran some bloodwork and a urine test for me. I also had a repeat ultrasound done, but I'm unsure of the results as of now. I received the results for the bloodwork and urine test today though, but haven't been able to consult with my doctor yet. The bloodwork appears normal, (nothing is out of range), but I noticed my ACR urine test was significantly elevated. I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable than me can help reassure me, or at least explain things to me, until I can speak with my doctor after the weekend. Thank you.
Elevated ACR levels. Can someone help me in... - Kidney Disease
Elevated ACR levels. Can someone help me interpret lab results, please? Feeling very scared.
Hi and welcome to the community.I recommend you use labtestsonline.org
Once the site opens, go to TESTS and click on that. After that enter the name or letters for each test and you'll get a simple, easy to read and understand explanation for each blood and urine test. It's a great way to learn about the various tests and develop questions to ask your doctor.
Best of luck.
Do you get kidney stones? Do you drink enough water throughout the day? Doctors generally agree that we should drink about half our weight in ounces of water each day.
Hi beebop, I also felt scared when I found out I have a large kidney stone, it turned out that scared feeling was exactly the kick in the butt I needed to get my diet in line by following my doctors directions and excluding x,y,z to prevent things from getting worse. I already feel so much better by changing my diet, so there's hope, just listen to your doc and take it serious and you'll be good!
Protein in the urine could be an issue if you are tested again in three months and it is still there.
