Coffee substitute?

Hello all- I love my coffee, but can only have one cup a day due to high blood pressure, and while I could have decaf, I would like to find a tea (or some other warm drink for the cold winter months) that is good for the kidneys. So if anyone has some suggestions for a hot/warm drink that is actually beneficial for the kidneys, please let me know what you enjoy. Also, aside from a warm beverage and water, what other drink is good for us CKD sufferers to help the kidneys out. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hot Chocolate is out due to the high potassium and phosphorus. Decaf coffee still has some caffeine in it. I've attached an article for you below. If you can handle the lower caffeine, this should work for you. However, see below the following article.healthline.com/nutrition/ca...

The National Kidney Foundation has an article on coffee and CKD. If you can stick to one cup and don't have to add dairy and sugar that's a plus. If you have a sugar substitute that is safe for your kidneys you're on safer ground. Happy reading.

I drink decaf tea and use almond milk as a creamer.

I have issues with caffeine and almond anything. I found out about the decaf coffee still having caffeine the hard way. What kind of tea has no caffeine?

I like Rooibos tea or chai tea. Yummy and good for you.

Okay, so Rooibos tea without the chai component (cinnamon and cardamon) has no caffeine? I may have to try that. Thanks.

I enjoy Constant Comment decaf tea by Bigelow. Although its decaf, it is not completely caffeine free. Its a black tea mixed with orange and other spices..

Almost all decaffeinated Teas still contain small amounts of caffeine, but Herbal Teas are completely caffeine free."

Im very sensitive to caffeine, but I still can tolerate a cup of the the Constant Comment decaf brew sweetened with the Splenda /Sugar blend.

I will check it out. What would you describe the taste as.

It depends on what they put in the rooibos tea. Alone, it has a reach nutty taste. I have one that has dark chocolate, peppermint and vanilla added that is fabulous. Its called "Better than sex." Truthfully! Made by No2 Tea Company. There is not enough chocolate to be a big deal.
