. I am desperately looking for advice. My father had a nephrectomy 11 years ago. Since then his kidney function had varied between 38-44gfr. He also suffers from high blood pressure. Can u suggest anything to regulate these numbers, what are the next steps. Can this be reversed or slowed down. Does this stage always progress. He has no symptoms. Thank you for reading

Controlling salt will help maintain blood pressure in the normal range which is uber important for maintaining kidney function. There is a lot of discussion about reversing kidney disease and most will say no. But, yes definitely progression can be slowed. I would recommend you see a Nephrologist.
