Hello!
Wanted to hear the experience of you who had nephrotic syndrome and who relapsed.
In may I was in hospital (after a long time feeling sick and the doctor didnt find the problem before it was really bad) with nephrotic syndrome and they diagnosed me with minimal change disease after biopsy. At that time I was really sick, urin protein 4+ and my albumin at 18, colesterol was over 8. I was really swollen all over, gain 10kg with water which is alot for me as I am petite.
I was put on prednisolone 50mg and we tapered it down slowly and I am now on 2,5mg. Of course being followed carefully by my GP and nephrologist.
But I think Im having a relapse.. I dont feel as bad as the initial time, my legs and thighs swell when im at work (alot of standing) and I feel short of breath and get a sore throat, this I also had the initial time, just worse. The swelling in my leg go down overnight, but the last week my abdomen have been big and feeling full. I look pregnant, worse later at day. My urine has been foamy again for the last weeks.
Went to my doctor yesterday and the urine test showed protein 2+, ran some blood which we are awaiting the results.
In the meantime I want to hear others experience
Im just wondering if you who relapsed: how did you experience it? Same symptoms at the initial? I feel I have the same symptoms in a smaller scale.
How quick did relapse happen compared to the first time?
And is there any adults here who has been diagnosed with minimal change d.? Would like to hear from you!
Thank you for reading!
