I have recently been to the ER twice in 1 week for foamy darker yellow urine, painful urination and pain in the lower back and numb upper wrist. Creatinine .83 then .73 and GFR > 60, potasium normal. I have had high blood pressure for 12 years. I weight 322 lbs 5'11 and have noticed that lower back pain fo4 the last 3 years but never got it checked. I became concerned with the recent symptoms so i went to the ER. I asked them to check the urine with ACR test and they said they dont in ER so i went to a clnic and will know results in a few days.

Is it possible i have kidney damage with 2 labs that showed gfr > 60 and normal creatinine levels if it turns out i have proetinuria?

Thanks everyone!

Hi u r GFR looks gud, check with urine analysis if protein is detected then check with 24 hour urine protein test.

There may be many reason for foamy urine, I don't think u would have had any kidney issue.

Hi Aztecapride,

We do not diagnose here on this site. If you are concerned, have your doctor look at your labs to discuss what might be going on.

You are probably not going to like this, but your back pain might have to do with your weight. Our skeleton does the best it can, but at some point, when you carry extra weight.....and especially if you have a large tummy like I do, the body is going to go out of line and cause you discomfort. And as the years go on, the more our body goes out of whack as it is pulled from the weight the more we notice discomfort, especially in the lower back.

Having high blood pressure can also lead to kidney disease so hopefully you have that under control. Diabetes is also very common in relationship to CKD.

Hopefully you don't have CKD. You may however have a urinary infection, or possibly a kidney stone that might have caused these issues you mention or you might have been simply dehydrated. That is not something we could or would not know but your doctor would.

Let us know how your labs come out or if there are other questions we can help you with.

I was checked for kidney stones and gallbladder stones and was negative and checked for UTI and negative.

Dr ordered and albumin test w creatinine urine tesr and the results were:

430 creatinine above normal

High

Albumin 2.1. normal

AC ratio under 30 normal

They said creatinine in urine is elevated but ratio normal.
