Hi people. I would like to know if anyone whos on ckd stage 3b experience tiredness, inability to complete task, breathlessness, and fatigue. My gp thinks ckd stage 3 is nothing to be concerned about. So i was not referred to a nephrologist. But i guess most doctors dont really understand our pain n frustration of not been taken to seriously.

HI charmzn,
Yes it is very common for nothing to be done for you at stage 3. But there is a lot you can do to help yourself and be your best advocate. Changing now to a renal diet is the best thing you can do. There is a lot of information out there on renal diets. Basically it is less protein, low sodium and more plant based foods. There is a lot right here on this site about it. If you look at Topics, here on the right, see diet and nutrition. With care with your diet, and taking a look at what medications and other things you may consume, you can slow down the progression of CKD quite often. I know I was stage 3 for many years.
Take a look at some information on diet and if you have any questions, please ask us.
Luckily, my gp did refer me. However, the nephrologists did not seem to feel that I needed to do anything except stop taking Celexicob and avoid sodium. I have learned to help myself!
