Hey Everyone 🙂

So I know I’ve have this talk about once or twice with my doctors, (and most likely a third time later this month lol) but do any of you have tattoos or piercings? My 21st birthday is coming up and I just want a small tattoo somewhere. I had my ears pierced but it was such a drag every time I had to take them out before an xray or something of that sort for my braces. But now that I officially have my braces off, I don’t have to worry about it, but I’ll never pierce my ears like that again 😐 I know because of my condition I have to be somewhere where they take sanitizing VERY seriously. But I already know the answer to my question because the answer is always the same lol I was just curious if any of you had tattoo or piercings? When did you get them? Did they effect you or how you lived live in any way? Just trying to talk about something other than KD because I don’t know about y’all, but it can get really depressing constantly thinking about it so why not take a break from it and get to know each other! ❤️

The point of this site is to talk about CKD. But, I can see no harm in replying to your question. The bottom line is what ever your doctor says is OK, then that's what you should go with. I have multiple pierced ears and I do not find taking my ear rings out an issue, as I do not sleep with them. I pierced my ears when I was your age .... many moons ago.

As far as tattoos...I am against having them for the fact that you are stuck with them forever. Your skin changes and they can fade and end up looking like a bruise. But I know I am in the minority, especially your generation. The thing with tattoos is infection so you must be careful with them.
