Latest GFR is down to 10. 2 months ago it was 13. I’m still working (outside in 100 degree plus weather). I’m thinking the extreme heat caused my GFR to DROP to 10. Thoughts anyone?

Are you staying well hydrated, that is so important, especially working in 100 degree weather. It could affect your numbers,

Yeah I drink LOTS of water all day. I actually love drinking water lol. I drink plenty of cranberry juice daily also.

Wow, working in 100 degree temperatures will put a strain on the body. You need to drink more water than normal as your losing water quickly in that kind of environment. Even if you're not thirsty, little sips as often as possible will help to keep the fluid levels up.

This is a great article on dehydration which points out symptoms you may not realize: everydayhealth.com/news/unu...

I believe youre right ... i keep a water container on my desk and drink a little water at a time all day long at work and get up about every 2 hours during the night.

When im off i try to drink more at a time more frequently but forget and sleep 3-4 hours at a time.

Just saying maybe its a way to tell if im hydrated.

I used to have to get up every two hours as well before. Now I stop drinking any water after 8pm and it seems to help. I also had issues with high uric acid which made it very uncomfortable and made me feel like I had to pee more often. I take sodium citrate to combat that, but it is a prescription. I drink at least 64 oz every day but more in the morning after I get up and then I slowly taper off.

Also look into having high liquid content fruits if you can. I also consume ice a lot but that's not great for your teeth... (my bad habit).

As the article says, the easiest way to check if you are drinking enough water is by the color of your urine. If it is dark, chances are you are dehydrated. Lighter yellow, systems are good. :)

You have a stage that I’ve not heard of..I’m not being smart or sarcastic. But you need to check your numbers. I may be wrong for I’m a Kidney disease patient and not a Dr.

Maybe you thought is says 10.2? My GFR is currently 10. 2 months ago it was 13. It’s been dropping on average one point every 3 to 6 months or so.

Oh I’m so sorry. You are right. I see you are in Stage 5?? I’m so sorry because I’ve not met anyone that low. I think that 15 is Stage 5 correct me if I’m wrong I was in the early Stage 4 but I’m back up to 34. I stopped every food that I wasn’t supposed to eat because it scared me so bad. Start drinking as much water as you can if you don’t have a lot of swelling. God bless you my friend.

Thank you 😊. Yeah I drink lots of water and lift weights nearly every day, have for years. I do need to eat better tho. I’m 43 years old and I still feel great 💪. Just don’t know how much longer I will feel great with a GFR of 10. And my creatinine is 6.09. It’s been 3 or 4 for the last year.
